Simphiwe Masilela - Rise to Royalty
A little about me :
Lotjhani noke, I am Simphiwe Masilela, a 20-year-old from the beautiful province of Mpumalanga, fondly known as the place of the rising sun. I was born and raised in KwaNdebele, where culture, community, and the Spirit of Ubuntu have shaped the woman I am becoming. I love running, reading novels, and the soulful rhythms of R&B music. More than anything, I am inspired by women who break barriers- those who live purposefully and unapologetically with a little bit of humility. Today, I stand with pride as a student at the University of Johannesburg and a Top 10 finalist for Miss UJ APK 2025. This journey is more than just about a crown, it's about representation, learning, growth and walking boldly in purpose.
I have always been inspired by the positive impact beauty pageants brought in people's lives. Since Miss UJ APK is more than a beauty contest, but a platform to amplify voices and for personal development, I entered to unleash my potential and grow into my confident self.
It started with a deep desire of wanting to lead, inspire, and be a catalyst for change. This desire was paired with a personal commitment to growth and improvement, especially I lacked, like Public speaking. so that I can become the woman I have always envisioned to be. The one who is empowered empowers others.
It means that someone believed in me and in my capabilities. It also motivates me to continue working hard and using this opportunity to encourage others to take a leap of faith and believe that they also deserve a chance.
For my humility, as a leader who led with integrity and used her platform to uplift others.
Dear black child , I dare you to dream! something that started off just as a dream was starting to materialise into something, I was so happy and grateful that I took that first step.
After the interview , I waited eagerly and anxiously for the top 10 announcement. when I saw this E-mail, I was overwhelmed with a sense of gratitude. This was just a confirmation that God is doing great things in my life.
