Hello there, and welcome to a corner of my world.
I am Siyamthanda Galela, a Miss UJ APK Top 10 Finalist and an Accounting student at The Great University of Johannesburg (UJeyyyy)
I am a Mental Health Advocate, and I tell a story of resilience, faith, and purpose.
As someone who has experienced my own battle with my mind, I discovered that there can be hope and healing in speaking about the battles we often feel pressured to face in silence. My journey inspired me to become the founder of ChooseGrace, a Mental Health Awareness Campaign created to encourage meaningful conversations around mental well-being among university students, as well as primary and high school learners.
ChooseGrace is built around campus open conversations, journaling, creating safe spaces to be vulnerable, and building communities where healing can happen together. My faith is at the core of who I am, and I use it as part of my journey to remind others that even in difficult seasons, hope can still be found in the One who created us.
The movement is still in its beginning stages, but I believe deeply in what it can become.
This is NOT just an event. This is a MOVEMENT.
