Nicole Frisley
Candidate for Miss UJ APK 2026
Nicole's advocacy addresses graduate unemployment by connecting students to the networks, skills, and opportunities they need to thrive beyond university, because capable, hardworking graduates shouldn't be held back by a lack of mentorship and access.
Inspired by the principle of Ubuntu: Umuntu ngumuntu ngabantu, I am because we are. Nicole believes this challenge can only be solved together. Her vision is a community where students, alumni, professionals, and employers connect to share knowledge, mentorship, internships, job opportunities, and career advice, bridging the gap between education and employment.
This cause is personal. As a student preparing to enter the professional world herself, Nicole understands the uncertainty many graduates face, and how much it matters to have people who believe in you, guide you, and open doors you couldn't reach alone.
Her actions reflect this mission. She founded the Rising Together community to connect students and build a culture of support and collaboration, organising meet-and-greet events, distributing food and care packages, supporting menstrual dignity initiatives through sanitary pad donations, and taking part in community outreach projects.
Her goal as Miss UJ is simple: students should leave university with more than a qualification with a community, real connections, and the confidence to pursue what comes next.
