I am The Black Diamond a rare breed I fight for what I deserve and what I want mostly what I have to do. I am Brilliant Miya a 26 year old from Soweto, South Africa.

I entered Ntombenhle Africa last year, the finals were supposed to be held last year, but due to the pandemic, the finals were held on the 18th of December 2021. The journey had its hardships and challenges, I remember in the finals, I had to pay for my accommodation and I did not have the money, but because of my approach, I approached my friend Rethabile to help me, and she had to travel all the way from Venda to North West just to accommodate me, but in the end it paid off. On the 18th December 2021, I was crowned the first queen of Ntombenhle Africa under the Vintage category.

I started modelling back in high school in the year 2012, when I joined Mr. & Mrs. Valentine's Global Secondary College. That time I went just for the sake of okay, my friend told me about it and I thought ‘why not?’ Then I didn’t make it, I posted until 2019 when I got approached again, because I’m a go-getter when it comes to everything else but not for pageants. I have been on stage for body building, and I won, no questions asked, but with pageants, you have to do a whole lot of things, such as charity work, multimedia, you have to be a person of character, and you have to behave, which is good. So it's a learning curve for me, when I was crowned the first time as Queen of Hammanskraal Royals, on the 27th of November 2021. That was the first day I started believing in myself that yes! I am the queen, I am The Black Diamond and I own it, so pushing through to this moment, I am Queen of Ntombenhle Africa.
I would say there is a secret, trust me The secret is that you have to believe in yourself first, for people to start believing in you, because you are a queen before you are crowned. Firstly you have to be kind, you have to be open, you have to give back to the community, you have to be ready to work and work hard, not just for the sake of the cameras, it has to be from the heart.
