About Khalil Aouani Cherif
Khalil brings a unique blend of financial expertise and a deep commitment to advancing AI across the African continent. As President of AMLD Africa since April 2024, he has been instrumental in growing the conference into a continental movement that has reached over 7,000 participants across more than 50 countries.
His journey with AMLD Africa began in December 2021 as a co-organiser, and his leadership has since attracted coverage from Forbes Africa and African Business. The conference has welcomed luminaries including Yoshua Bengio (known as one of the "Godfathers of AI"), Karim Beguir (co-founder of InstaDeep), and senior leaders from Oracle, IBM, Novartis, and more.
Beyond his role at AMLD Africa, Khalil holds a Master's degree in Accounting and Corporate Finance from the University of St. Gallen and has professional experience spanning Switzerland, the USA, and Tunisia, including work at a single family office and in the solar energy sector.
