SPHELELE MASILELA

An individual has not yet started living until he can rise above the narrow confines of his individualistic concerns to the broader concerns of all humanity, it takes courage to stand up bold and strive for humanity, Sphelele Masilela is a young creative man born and raised in Alexandra township known as GOMORA .He is a Basketball player, a model, Mr driphub designs owner , founder of Mr and Miss Royal Elegance , Drone pilot and an advocate for a boy child, violence in schools and menstrual poverty. I advocate for a boy child because I believe that the is a lot the community need to do to protect and empower a boy child to be better leaders for a better community without violence and all this social injustices happening in our communities, I believe that if we teach , empower and support a boy child we can have positive impacts in the community, schools and etc. I advocate for menstrual poverty because as a king I see the needs of sanitary pads for every woman in the community, I believe no girl or young women should miss school , work or any activity just because they can’t afford sanitary pads. I believe if we can have free condoms moving around every place in the community, we can also have free sanitary pads for girls because it’s not a choice to go to your periods as a woman and sex it’s a choice. Pads should not be a luxury because we have so many young women coming from a disadvantage background and they can’t afford buying sanitary pads. I advocate for violence in schools because I believe that if we don’t speak out we will lose more learners and teachers in schools because of the violence in schools and I want to see positivity in our schools.

I joined MR and Miss Waterfall SA because I believe that through this journey I will grow by meeting new models and learning from others ad I believe that it will help me do more community work and serve my community with a positive purpose ant it will help me let the whole world know how it feels to grow up in a community like Alexandra as a boy child and its okay to be bold and speak out.Its not all about winning but it’s all about changing life’s through modelling. Being Mr Waterfall finalist gives me more strength and courage to rise by lifting others through my advocacy and doing it from my heart not because of a sash or crown because I believe a true King is not determined by a crown or sash but by his love for the community and striving for humanity .

Being a model it’s not about being beautiful or handsome, it is more about service to the community and being a role model and making a different. It’s being proud of your community, it’s all what you put into it by being the change you want to see in your community.
